Ready to ditch the stagnant out-of-sync brand and website and step it up? You’re in good company! Today, I’m sharing the story of Zo Connected, a website copywriter & SEO strategist who finally took the plunge and invested in custom brand and website design with me.

I sat down with Zoe to ask her about her journey from DIY website + Canva-created brand (eek!) to an elevated, professional and ‘so her’ rebrand and Showit website.

Jess: What made you choose Showit for your website?

Zoe: Honestly, I loved the look of Showit sites. I’d known about your work for a while (in fact, we’ve even collaborated on some projects), and the final design (and experience) was second to none. I’d used Squarespace before, and while I’m sure some awesome website designers exist, I just felt pulled in by how elevated (and different) Showit websites looked.

Plus, I’d heard Showit’s ease of use was a game-changer. And now I have a Showit website I can confirm: It’s so intuitive – I can easily tweak things, and the WordPress admin for my blogs is super SEO-friendly.

Jess: Did you have any worries about diving into the rebrand?

Zoe: I was mainly excited! My biggest concern was finding time to write copy for my own site. It’s funny – writing for clients is second nature, but writing for yourself? Whole different ball game! And yes, the investment was a consideration (as it is for any micro-business owner), but I knew it was the right move.

Jess: How do you think your old brand/website impacted your leads?

Zoe: The difference is night and day. Before the rebrand, I was getting a lot of low-budget enquiries and ghosting. Clients didn’t always see the value of investing in quality copy. Now, my new site is already attracting clients who are ready to invest and understand the value I bring as an experienced website copywriter.

Jess: How do you feel now that your rebrand is live?

Zoe: Refreshed and energised! The rebrand has given me a huge confidence boost, and I’m getting so many compliments on the new look. It’s amazing to have a site that finally feels like ‘me.’. For ages, I’ve been harping on about how important your website is (as a website copywriter) so now I finally feel I’ve taken my own advice.

Jess: Any advice for copywriters or business owners considering a rebrand?

Zoe: Don’t wait until you’re desperate! If you feel out of sync with your online presence, take action sooner rather than later. A rebrand can make all the difference in attracting the right clients and creating a brand you’re proud of.

Jess: Last question – what’s your favourite part of your new website?

Zoe: I love the personality that shines through – from the colour scheme (hello, mulberry!) to the cutesy design elements. Working with you as my designer brought my vision to life, and the whole experience was so much fun. I couldn’t be happier with the final result!
